Law Journey
"Law Journey" is Estonia's first parallel exchange of students between Estonian and Romanian law students, organized by the Union together with the Romanian Law Students' Association (Asociaţia Studenţilor în Drept). As part of the 2023 "Law Journey", three outstanding law students from the University of Bucharest visited Estonia for one week.
The aim of the meaningful program was to show the students our country in all its beauty, visiting, among other things, the Parlament, the branches of the Faculty of Law of the University of Tartu in Tallinn and Tartu, the State Prosecutor's Office, the Supreme Court, the Ministry of Education and Research, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Romanian Embassy in Estonia, the Harju District Court, as well as the law firms Sorainen and Cobalt. Each institution visited offered a unique opportunity to take knowledge with them through various presentations, introductory reviews, as well as short training sessions. However, the Tartu Student Days, the visits to the Estonian National Museum, the Taevaskoja and the Meenikunno bog helped to complete the cultural program.
At the same time, six outstanding Estonian law students visited Bucharest, hosted by the Romanian Society of Law Students. During the week, our students visited Bucharest, the Embassies of Estonia and India, the Romanian Parliament, as well as the University of Bucharest, participating in an engaging lecture on European Union law. However, the cultural program offered a rare opportunity to get to know the cultural life of Romania through several social activities with Bucharest law students and visits to the opera and other cultural institutions.
All in all, both our students in Bucharest and the Romanian students in Estonia were very satisfied with what they experienced! During the student exchange, they got to know the legal systems of the two countries, the state and life organization, as well as each other.
This year, the student exchange will take place on March 25-31, 2024.
