Diplomacy in the 21st century

🇺🇸🤝🇪🇪 The Estonian Law Students’ Union is honored to host the United States Ambassador George P. Kent to discuss diplomacy of the 21st century.
We invite students of law and political science, but also everyone interested in diplomacy, to join us on the 31st of October at the White Hall of the University of Tartu Museum to explore the fascinating world of diplomacy. Ambassador Kent will introduce his daily work as a representative of the United States as well as give insight into the relations and future plans for cooperation between Estonia and the U.S.
Ambassador Kent is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service with extensive international experience. He was sworn-in as the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Estonia on December 21, 2022. Throughout his career Georg P. Kent has served as Deputy Assistant Secretary in the European and Eurasian Bureau at the U.S. Department of State and as Deputy Chief of Mission in Kyiv, Ukraine. Additionally, Ambassador Kent has held diplomatic positions in Uzbekistan, Poland, Thailand, and Ukraine.
The evening will be moderated by Siobhan Kattago, Associate Professor of Practical Philosophy at the University of Tartu. She received her PhD from the New School University and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Remarque Institute at New York University. She is an American citizen who has lived in Estonia since 2001.
